Bougainvillea House

The renovation/preservation of this late 18th century/Early 19th Century cut limestone home including detached outdoor kitchen was undertaken to house on of the oldest companies still in operation in The Bahamas. To express the original construction method and material, the interior was stripped of all 20th century modification including wall finishes to reveal the native cut limestone building blocks and mahogany door and window lintels. Original timber floor and roof members were retained and added to as necessary for structural integrity.
